William S. "Billy" Livingston

William S. "Billy" Livingston, a cherished resident of Blakely, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on November 22nd, 1927, in Marianna, Florida, Billy lived a life marked by dedication to his family, community, and country.

Billy proudly served in the United States Army during the Occupation of Japan from 1946 to 1947, a testament to his unwavering commitment to his nation. Following his military service, he pursued higher education at Middle Georgia College, which laid the foundation for a successful career. He worked with distinction at First State Bank, Maddox Corporation, and Birdsong Peanuts before retiring.

A devoted member of the First Methodist Church of Blakely, Billy was actively involved in the Methodist Men's Bible Class, where he formed lifelong friendships and contributed to the spiritual life of his community. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life.

Billy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marshline Livingston; his parents, Joseph N. Livingston and Lucy Williams Livingston; his brothers, Joe Livingston, Jr. and James Livingston; and his sister, Pauline Beesly. He is survived by his loving daughters, Laura Glasgow of Ramona, OK, and Allison Meyers (Will) of Cleveland, OK. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Ryan Hartshorn (Angie) of Watertown, MN, and Haley Glasgow of Houston, TX, as well as his great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Ben Hartshorn of Watertown, MN. Billy's faithful companion and caregiver, Brittany Davis of Fort Gaines, GA, provided him with comfort and care in his later years.

A funeral service to honor Billy's life will be held at the First Methodist Church in Blakely, GA, on Tuesday, November 11th, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Tucker Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Blakely Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the church from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on the same day.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wally Robertson, Cliff Bush, Ricky Langley, Harry Crozier, Nelson Hattaway, and Jim Hattaway. The Men's Bible Class will serve as honorary pallbearers, reflecting the deep bonds Billy formed within his church community.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to All Animals Matter: Blakely and Early County, 15030 River Street, Blakely, GA, a cause close to Billy's heart.

Arrangements are being handled by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Billy's legacy of love, service, and faith will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
