William "Billy" Henry Davis

October 12, 1948 — May 17, 2025

Blakely

William Henry Davis “Billly”, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Blakely, Georgia, on May 17, 2025. Born on October 12, 1948, in Colquitt, Georgia, Billy was a loving husband, devoted father, proud Papa, and cherished friend to many.

Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, his high school sweetheart, Theresa M. Davis. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring faith. He is also survived by his children: William H. Davis Jr. (Candace) of Blakely, Amy R. Mock (Wesley) of Canton, and Lorie D. Wainwright of Ellaville.

His legacy continues through his ten grandchildren—Demitri Wainwright, Kelsey Davis, William H. Davis III “Trey” (Stephinie), Katelyn “Katie” Stratton, Dusti Davis, Matthew Harrell, Alexis Stilwell, Lawrence Wainwright, Aubrey Mock, and Noah Davis—and his four great-grandchildren: Jennifer Wainwright, Dustin Davis, Evelyn Davis, and Madilyn Davis. Also left to cherish his memory are his sister, Patricia Tatum; his brother, Felix Davis III (Priscilla); his brothers-in-law, Tommy Moore (Peggy) and Roy Lawrence Moore Jr.; and a host of extended family and dear friends who knew and loved his joyful spirit.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Felix Patrick Jr. and Ann Elizabeth Houston-Davis; his sister, Julia Daugherty; and his in-laws, Roy and Myreece Moore.

A 1967 graduate of Early County High School, Billy dedicated over 40 years to the automotive and sales industry before finding joy in retirement through his lawn and landscaping business. His hard work and steady integrity defined his professional life, while his generous heart and quiet strength defined his personal one.

A lifelong member and third-generation servant of Blakely First Methodist Church, Billy was deeply rooted in his faith and community. Over the years, he faithfully served in numerous church roles, including Board Chair, Sunday School Superintendent, Men’s Bible Class, and the Methodist Men’s Group. He was also an active member of the Georgia Jaycees and the Shriners, dedicating his time and energy to causes greater than himself.

Billy will be remembered as a man of unwavering faith, humility, and warmth. His legacy is one of kindness, devotion, and enduring love—qualities that will live on in those who were blessed to know him. While his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his life is a testament to what it means to love fully, serve faithfully, and live with purpose.
