Wesley Chris Roney, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6th, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on Monday, May 1st, 1961, in Cuthbert, GA, Chris was a cherished resident of Edison, GA, where he spent much of his life surrounded by family and friends.
Chris dedicated many years of his life working as a parts salesman at Whatley Oil and Auto (Napa), where he was known for his expertise and friendly demeanor. His commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his faith, he attended Salem Baptist Church in Edison, GA.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Tonjua Renee Holt, and his devoted mother, Lula G. Roney of Edison, GA. Chris was a proud father to his daughters, Jennifer Kimbrel (Joey) of Moultrie, GA, and Christin Milner (Scotty) of Edison, GA, and his son, Brandon Lewis (Jade) of Leesburg, GA. He was adored by his six grandchildren, Creek Kimbrel, Easton Milner, Scotty Milner Jr., Kaydi Milner, Logan Lewis, and Sawyer Lewis, and his two great-grandchildren, Lane Milner and Sophie Milner. Chris also leaves behind his brother, Slade Roney (Michelle) of Edison, GA, and his cherished fur baby, Blue, along with a nephew and niece. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Cecil Roney, whose memory Chris held dear.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 11th, 2026, at 11 am at Salem Baptist Church in Edison, GA, with Rev. Daniel McFather officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior at the same location, allowing family and friends to gather and share memories of Chris's remarkable life.
