It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony Trey Harrell who departed this life on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the age of 46. Trey was born in Blakely, GA, on April 12th, 1979, to Ray Harrell and the late Mary Sheppard. Trey lived most of his life in Blakely and was loved by many.
Trey was the proud owner and operator of Smitty’s Grill and loved talking and getting to know all of his customers, who he thought of as family. Trey was also a member of the Early County Board of Education and enjoyed helping his community. Trey enjoyed outdoor activities such as shooting his guns, fishing, hunting, and playing golf. He also loved the Georgia Bulldogs and enjoyed bantering with other college football team fans.
Trey was preceded in death by his mother, Fran Sheppard, his brother, Steven Harrell, and his son Sealie Harrell.
Trey is survived by his wife, Alicia, and their three boys, Timothy, James, and Jesse. He is also survived by his father, Ray Harrell (Ann), his brother, Scott Harrell (Judy), his sister, Tonya Harrell, and Alicia’s family whom he was very close to. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Trey's life will be celebrated with funeral services on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 2 PM at the Blakely First Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Guffey officiating. We ask that everyone wear their favorite team attire in honor of Trey’s love for the Dawgs and football. Interment will follow in Blakely Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home on Monday, February 16th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Serving as pallbearers are some of his closest friends, Adam Askew, Artigas Gregory, Robert Murkerson, Bruce Neiswanger, Britt Price, and Matt Shiver.
In lieu of flowers or to help the family, a memorial account has been set up at First State Bank of Blakely.
Arrangements are provided by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Trey will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and love will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
