Susan Diane Shierling

Susan Diane Riddley Shierling, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on Thursday, December 3rd, 1959, in Berlin, Germany, Susan's life was a testament to love, compassion, and dedication.

Susan resided in Dothan, AL, where she was a cherished member of the community. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse, having earned her LPN degree. Her nurturing spirit and commitment to her patients left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

A devoted member of the 1st Nazarene Church of Donalsonville, Susan's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She was actively involved in her church community, where she found joy and purpose.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, Blake Shierling, and her children, Robert Blake Shierling (Faythe) of Blakely, GA, and Amy Diane Graves (Josh) of Dothan, AL. She was a proud grandmother to Tyler Blake Shierling (Sam Cowart), Bridget Harley Smith (Calvin Brown, Jr.), Dana Megan Gardner (Dallas Hudson), Jordan Riley Smith, Joshua Aiden Graves, and Adalynn Blake Graves. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Calvin Brown III, Kai Blake Brown, Sawyer Lane Gardner, and Waylon Blake Shierling. Susan is also survived by her sister, Sheila Holt (Kenneth) of Jakin, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Earl Riddley and Annette Riddley, and her brother, Danny Earl Riddley.

A funeral service to celebrate Susan's life will be held at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home on Friday, June 27th, 2025, at 11:00 am EST, officiated by Bro. Scott Messer and Danny Brewer. Visitation will take place at the same location at 10:00 am EST, prior to the service. Interment will follow at Blakely Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Vic White, Chuck Hancock, Joel Slappy, Johnny McMullen, Tommy Lynn, and Dr. Michael O'Brien.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the American Cancer Society, or the Leukemia Foundation, causes that were close to Susan's heart.

Arrangements are provided by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Susan's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
