Shirley Jo Durham, a beloved resident of Bluffton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20th, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on January 1st, 1935, in Cadwell, Georgia, Shirley was a cherished daughter of the late William Tullie Scarborough and Trellie Coleman Scarborough.
A devoted homemaker, Shirley dedicated her life to her family and community. She was a long-standing member of Colomokee Baptist Church, where she found joy and fellowship among her church family.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, J W "Buddy" Durham, and her siblings, Wyllene S. Hellams, Faye Tallent, Charles Ray Scarborough, Saralyn Durham, Emory Scarborough, Greyson Scarborough, and Edsel Scarborough.
She is survived by her two sons, Keith Durham of Bluffton, GA, and Ladon Durham (Angie) of Blakely, GA. Shirley's legacy continues through her five grandchildren: Joey Durham, Hannah Medlin (Cole), Hunter Durham (Kendall), Danica Raines (Adam), and Tyler Durham (Alexandra), as well as her eight great-grandchildren: Leanna Medlin, Sadie Medlin, Libby Jo Durham, Adalee Raines, Tullie Raines, Haven Durham, Kellan Durham, and Barrett Durham.
A visitation will be held at Colomokee Baptist Church on Thursday, April 23rd, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. TJ Bennett. Shirley will be laid to rest in the Colomokee Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers honoring her memory will be Kenneth Durham, Tyler Durham, Joey Durham, Hunter Durham, Adam Raines, and Cole Medlin.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Colomokee Baptist Church in Shirley's memory. Arrangements are being handled by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home.
Shirley Jo Durham will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and dedication to her family and faith. Her gentle spirit and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
