Shirley Ann Chambliss

Shirley Ann Peterson Chambliss age 78 of Blakely, Ga. passed away on September 3, 2026 in the Early County Nursing Home.

Shirley was born October 21, 1947 in Blakely, Ga. to the late Dazza C. Peterson and late Edith Thomas Peterson. 

She grew up in Blakely and never ventured far from home. She enjoyed trips to Florida and lived there for a short while.

She is survived by her sister; Louise Paterson Whitaker, her sister in law; Mary Lou Peterson, 

her son; Ricky Chambliss and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

She is also survived by several nieces.

Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bobby Peterson, daughter, Vickie Allen and half sister Inez Evans.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday September 8, 2026 at 12 Noon at the Blakely Cemetery.

Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
