Ruth Sims

Ruth Sims, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the Blakely community, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24th, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on Tuesday, September 18th, 1934, in Chatham, Virginia, Ruth was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her.

Ruth spent her formative years in Chatham before making Blakely, Georgia, her home. She dedicated many years of her life working as a secretary at Sims Manufacturing, where her diligence and warm spirit left a lasting impression on her colleagues and the company.

A devoted member of the Church of Christ, Ruth's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was known for her unwavering commitment to her church community and her generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.

Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert Edge Sims; her parents, Roy Haile Pickeral and Leona Pickeral; her daughter, Cynthia Ruth Sims; and her siblings, Clifton Pickeral and Haile Pickeral. Her memory will forever be cherished by her surviving family: her children, Judy Enfinger (Johnny) of Blakely, GA, Janet Sims of Cordele, GA, and Gary Sims of Blakely, GA; her grandchildren, Neil Enfinger (Casidy), Amy Tucker (Jaa), Adam Sims, and Chase Sims; and her great-grandchildren, Owen Enfinger, Brody Enfinger, Payton Tucker, Kacen Sims, Cooper Sims, and Cameron Sims. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Pickeral of Danville, VA.

A graveside service to honor Ruth's life will be held at Blakely Cemetery in Blakely, GA, on Monday, December 1st, 2025, at 10:00 am, with Danny Brewer officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home.

Ruth's legacy of love, faith, and dedication to her family and community will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
