Robert Colquitt Sheffield, a beloved resident of Blakely, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the age of 78. Born in Dothan, Alabama, Robert lived a life marked by dedication, passion, and love for his family and community.
Robert was the cherished life partner of Connie Lee, with whom he shared many joyful years. He is survived by her children, Bryen Kelley (Rebekah) of Missouri, and Jennifer Craft (Bobby Joe) of Blakely, GA., and grandchildren Gage Kelley, Amber Ebersole (Andrew), and Hayden Craft.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Sarah Sheffield, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity. He carried these values throughout his life, beginning with his education at Georgia Military College in Dahlonega, GA, and later earning a Master’s Degree in Linguistics from the University of Georgia.
Though he briefly pursued a career in teaching, Robert found his true calling in pine tree farming, where he thrived as a self-employed farmer. His dedication to his craft was evident in the thriving forests he cultivated, which stood as a testament to his hard work and commitment to the land.
A strong supporter of the AA Organization, Robert was known for his generosity and willingness to help others in their journey to recovery. His involvement in the community was a source of inspiration to many, and his legacy will continue to impact those he touched. Robert was Episcopalian by faith.
A graveside service to honor Robert’s life will be held at Blakely Cemetery in Blakely, GA, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00 am. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the City of Blakely Animal Shelter.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, who have provided compassionate care during this difficult time.
Robert Colquitt Sheffield will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his enduring impact on his community. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
