Perry Franklin Jarrett, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on March 30th, 1938, in Phenix City, Alabama, Perry was a cherished resident of Blakely, Georgia, where he spent most of his life.
Perry dedicated his career to the papermill industry, working diligently at Georgia Pacific in Cedar Springs, GA, until his retirement. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his dedication to his country, having served honorably in the United States Air Force.
A devout member and deacon of Southside Baptist Church, Perry's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was actively involved in the church community, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to the spiritual growth of many.
Perry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Regina Jarrett, and his sons, Mack Jarrett (Sandra) of Columbia, AL, and Jay Jarrett (Marsha) of Columbia, AL. He was a proud grandfather to Hillary Sisson (Travis), Katie Jarrett, Jennifer McCoy (Justin), Taylor Jarrett, Hayden Hattaway (Kat), Parker Hattaway, and Wade Jarrett, and a great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Howard of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay Perry Jarrett and Etta Mildred Jarrett, his son, John Jarrett, and his sisters, Anita Lea and Faye Naramore.
A visitation will be held at Southside Baptist Church on Friday, August 29th, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, Rev. David Baker will officiate. Interment will take place at Pine Lawn Gardens. Pallbearers will include Wade Jarrett, Fred Forsee, Matt Simmons, Chris Sumner, Kenneth Johnson, and Skyler Hathcock, with the Coffee Club Crew, and the Builders Sunday School class serving as honorary pallbearers.

Perry's legacy of love, faith, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
