Onez Anderson

Onez Anderson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the Blakely community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the age of 96. Born and raised in Blakely, Georgia, Onez lived a life full of faith, love, dedication, and service to her family and community.

Onez was a talented seamstress, known for her meticulous craftsmanship and creativity. Her work brought joy and comfort to many, and her legacy is stitched into the fabric of her community. After retiring, she dedicated her life to being the best homemaker and cook possible, always ready to feed anyone who came into her home. A devoted member of the Blakely Church of God, Onez found joy in playing the piano, sharing her musical talents with her church family and friends.

She is survived by her loving children: Mary Marlene Chandler of Blakely, GA; Sharon Anderson Allegro (Ronnie) of Longwood, FL; Clifford Earl Anderson, Jr. (Kerry) of Baldwin, GA; and Angie Harmon (Brandon) of Blakely, GA. Her legacy continues through her 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Onez also leaves behind her dear sister, Patricia Davis Mercer of Blakely, GA, as well as several nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Onez was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 75 years, Clifford Earl Anderson; her parents, George Washington Davis and Mary Lee Davis; her siblings, Smokey Davis, Beatrice Sims, Mary Goynes, Robert Davis, Marjorie Davis, Phillip Davis, and Elizabeth Davis; her grandchildren, Hillary Lynn Chandler and JoJo Anderson; and her son-in-law, Preston Chandler.

The family will receive friends during a visitation at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A celebration of Onez's life will be held at the same location on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Matthew Schlukebier and Rev. Sterling Jones. Interment will follow in Blakely Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Ronnie Allegro, Trevor Harmon, Jeff Chandler, Ken Chandler, and Keith Chandler.

Arrangements are being handled by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Onez's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.
