Mike was born on October 12, 1960 in Port St. Joe, Florida to the late James Howard and Annie Pearl Hathcock Mitchell.After proudly serving our country in the United States Navy, he became a licensed agent and sold life insurance for numerous years.Mike enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing & camping, and watching Alabama Crimson Tide football.
Survivors include his two sons and a daughter, Chris Mitchell (Jessica) of Dothan and their children, Everett, Hudson & Juliana MItchell, and Grayson & Emily Benak, Garrett Mitchell of Blakely and his children, Addison & Kole, and Emilie Sanders (Clay) of Dothan and their children, Lincoln, Jentzen, Ascher, Braylon & Lakelynn; and two siblings, Melissa Bridges (Jerome) and Jeff Mitchell (Robin), both of Blakely, along with numerous extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13th, at the chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home.The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
