It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Scott Brownlee, a beloved resident of Blakely, Georgia. Michael was born on Sunday, October 11th, 1970, in Albany, Georgia, and passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 21st, 2026, at the age of 55.
Michael was a dedicated and hardworking individual, known for his entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of Brownlee Service Station. His commitment to his work and his community was evident in all that he did. Michael was also a proud member of the local Masonic Lodge, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to the community.
He is survived by his cherished son, Scott Brownlee, and fiancé, Dana, of Woodstock, GA, his loving mother, Patricia Johnson Brownlee of Blakely, GA, and his devoted girlfriend, Kim Cashwell, also of Blakely. Michael's brother, Edward Brownlee, and sister-in-law, Wendy, along with their children, Trey Brownlee and his wife Haley and their child Briggs, and Kyndall Brownlee, all of Blakely, GA, will forever hold his memory dear. He is also survived by the mother of his child, Christy Graham of Colquitt, GA.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Barney Edward Brownlee Sr., whose legacy he carried forward with pride.
A visitation will be held at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, GA, on Monday, May 25th, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share memories of Michael during this time.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Blakely, GA, on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, at 11:00 am, with Dr. Alex Howell officiating. Following the service, Michael will be laid to rest at Blakely Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Nash, David Johnson, Jim Wasdin, Darian Green, Bryce Johnson, and Hudson Graham, all of whom were dear friends and companions to Michael.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, who have provided compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
Michael Scott Brownlee will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to his family and community, and his unwavering spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
