Melvin Tye

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melvin Tye, a beloved resident of Blakely, GA, who left us on Saturday, August 15th, 2026, at the age of 62. Melvin was born on Friday, September 13th, 1963, to Geneva Love Tye and the late Cecil Tye.

Melvin was a skilled mechanic, working in the surrounding communities.

He is survived by his loving mother, Geneva Tye, who was his constant source of strength and support. Melvin also leaves behind his uncles, Buddy Love, Coy Love, Jr., and Eugene Love; and his dear aunts, Janice Wright and Judy Hammock. He was a beloved cousin to many, and his extended family will forever hold him in their hearts. Melvin was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Tye, and his brother, Frankie Tye.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Melvin's life will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Blakely, GA, on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026, at 10:00 am. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects.
