Mavis Chandler Rode, 81, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017, at the Early Memorial Nursing Home, Blakely, GA. Her funeral will be Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home, Blakely, GA with Rev. Jonathan Fuller officiating.Active pallbearers will be James Hall, Chris Wakefield, Mike Pelham, Mark Davis, Keith Garrett and Reliford Igles.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-1:45 pm at the funeral home.Burial will be at the Pine Lawn Gardens Cemetery, Blakely, GA.

Mrs. Rode was born in Blakely, GA on March 13, 1936 to the late William Chandler and Gertrude Temples Chandler.She was former owner of Garden Market and was a member of the Hilton United Methodist Church.Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Rode; one brother, Homer Lester Chandler, a sister, Jeffie Garrett and a niece, Donna Richards.

Her survivors include two sisters; Modine C. Stephens and Juanita C. Parks both of Blakely, GA; four nieces; Joan Pelham and Mike of Haleburg, AL, Malecia Hall, Blakely, GA, Marsha Funk and Tom of Cumming, GA and Deborah Denise Davis and Mark of Ft. Gaines, GA, one nephew; Keith Garrett and Glenda of Apollo Beach, FL.
