In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Hilton Methodist Church, 406 S Old River Rd, Blakely, GA 39823 in Mrs. Causey’s memory.
Frances was born in Georgia on June 10, 1921 to the late Ross and Annie Margaret Brooks Avirett. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was an amazing southern cook who expressed her love to family and friends through her delicious food. Cooking was truly a language of love for her. She enjoyed working in her yards and flower beds, even cutting her own grass until the age of 90. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished seamstress. For 30 years, she was employed in the Georgia Peanut Industry in various capacities. She retired from Farmers Warehouse after 26 years of service to the farmers of South Georgia. Frances was a faithful, lifelong member of Hilton Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Stanley Causey; two sisters and one brother.
Frances is survived by two daughters, Shirley C. McDuffie of Samson, AL and Phyllis Craft (Ken) of Damascus, GA; four grandchildren, Stan McDuffie (Ashley) of Birmingham, AL, Ross McDuffie (Sunny) of Samson, AL, Holley Jaakkola (Juha) of Savannah, GA and Brooke Odom of Arlington, GA; six great grandchildren, Davis McDuffie, Brynn McDuffie, Laney McDuffie, Ava Jaakkola, Sophie Jaakkola and Georgia Odom.
The family would like to extend a very special “Thank You” to Terri Knowles and Mary Kyles for your devoted love and care given to our loved one and to Gentiva Hospice for their excellent care given to our mother and grandmother.
