Jimmie Ioan Henry Dunn (Mema), 86, joined her husband, David Hayes Dunn, in their eternal, heavenly home on Wednesday, December 16th after a brief illness.
Jimmie was born to the late Fred and Clyde Henry on March 4, 1934. She graduated from Miller County High School in 1952. Jimmie worked at the Blakely Peanut Company, Early County Probate Judges Office, and Tax Commissioners Office. She served as Early County Tax Commissioner from 1984 to 2000.
She married David, the love of her life, on December 28, 1958. Jimmie and David began their life together in Blakely and raised their daughters, Sheri and Sara, there. Jimmie deeply loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Jimmie is survived by her daughters, Sheri Cyllene Dunn Ulm (John) and Sara Elizabeth Dunn Hicks (David); grandchildren Morgan Elizabeth Ulm Fort (Dan), David Mason Hicks, Dawson Lee Hicks, and Jackson Hayes Hicks; great grandchildren David Lane Ulm and Ruby Grace Fort. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Hayes Dunn.
Burial for Jimmie will be at Blakely Cemetery, next to her husband, David. The visitation and service will take place at the Chapel of Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home, in Blakely, on Saturday, December 19th. The visitation will begin at 1:00, and the service is at 2:00, with Dr. Alex Howell, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers are Mason Hicks, Dawson Hicks, Jack Hicks, Joe Bryan, Will Bryan, Ed Bryan, and Dwight Evans.
For the last year, Jimmie lived at The Kelly Foundation for Senior Living, located at 4083 Business Highway 27, Buchanan, Georgia 30113.
