Michael Masters

James Michael Masters, a beloved son, grandson, and friend, passed away on Monday, May 18th, 2026, at the age of 36. Born on Friday, July 28th, 1989, in Dothan, Alabama, Michael spent his life bringing creativity and warmth to those around him. He resided in Blakely, Georgia, where he was known for his artistic talents and kind spirit. Michael was a talented tattoo artist, whose work was admired by many.

He is survived by his loving mother, Charlene Quattlebaum Gandy, and his father, Thomas Michael Masters (Christina). Michael also leaves behind his cherished maternal grandmother, Mary Quattlebaum, and his paternal grandfather, Marshal Earl Masters, along with his wife Carolyn. He will be dearly missed by his uncles, Danny Arnold Quattlebaum, James Donald Quattlebaum, Patrick Masters, Daniel Masters, and Greg Masters, as well as several cousins and close friends who were like family to him.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Arnold Quattlebaum, and his step-father, Larry Darrel Gandy. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Michael at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home on Friday, May 22nd, 2026, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Brent Griffin officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at the funeral home from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, prior to the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, where Michael's life and legacy will be celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His artistic spirit and loving nature will be remembered and cherished by all.
