Cornelia Elizabeth Harrison Day, age 90, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter on May 25, 2026. Elizabeth was born on September 1,1935 to William Lonnie Harrison and Rachel Faircloth Harrison. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband Claude V. Day, her daughter Mary Katherine Day Jenkins, her son Claude Henry Day, her grandson Joshua Adam Brooks, her brother Colon Harrison, and her sisters Colista Lindsey, Annie McKeller Snyder, Lou Ellen Brunson, and Thelma Bush Cox.
Elizabeth is survived by her two daughters, Ann King and Glenda Johnson (Jon), and her son Keith Day (Lori), all of Blakely. Her grandchildren, David Jenkins, Dustin Day (Jamie), Jessica King, Michael Jenkins (Angela), Dana Day, Ryan King (Jenna), Chris Kirkland, Jennifer Holland (Robert), Michelle McKay (Tyler), Luke Johnson (Sharelly), and Morgan Deal (Owen), 29 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Throughout her life, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family deeply. Even while working many long hours as a businesswoman, whose hard work and determination earned the respect of many, she always made sure her family was cared and provided for. She showed unconditional love to her children and grandchildren and treasured the time spent with them.
She enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing, shopping, fishing, and spending time on arts and crafts, where her creativity and talent shined. These hobbies brought her joy and created many special memories with those she loved. She will be remembered for her caring nature, strong work ethic, and the love she gave so freely to her family.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to a special great-niece Sandy McKeller Smith and the Georgia Hospice Care, especially Mishell “Cookie” Pittman.
Elizabeth was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Blakely.
A visitation will be held at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral in Blakely, GA, on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share memories of Elizabeth during this time.
Funeral services will take place at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Blakely on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Blakely Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Jenkins, Dustin Day, Ryan King, Chris Kirkland, Robert Holland, Levi Atkinson, and DeHaviland Haire.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home.
