Dorothy Stevens Paul, a beloved resident of Edison, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on a Valentine's Day, February 14th, 1931, in Edison, Georgia, Dorothy lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to her community and family.
Dorothy was a devoted Activities Director at the Calhoun County Nursing Home, where she worked tirelessly to bring joy and enrichment to the lives of the residents. Her compassionate nature and vibrant spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
A lifelong member of the Edison Baptist Church, Dorothy was deeply involved in her faith community, where she found great joy and purpose. Her commitment to her church and her unwavering faith were cornerstones of her life.
Dorothy is survived by her loving son, Warren Paul, and her cherished grandchildren: Richard Paul (Mandy), Rodney Paul, Randy Paul, Robin Swift (Jason), Lee Chestnut, and Cole Chestnut. She was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Dorothy is also survived by her siblings, Shirley Tsourmas, Carolyn Fuller, and Jimmy Stevens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Stevens and Vadye Turner Stevens, her beloved husband, Horace "Bud" Paul, her daughter, Susan Chestnut, and her siblings, Betty Jean Craft, Ann McClendon, Bobby Stevens, Martha Lanier, and Emmett Stevens.
A graveside service to honor Dorothy's life will be held at New Light Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Morgan, GA, on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Keith Gaines officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dorothy's memory to the Edison Baptist Church, 19530 Hartford St E, Edison, GA 39846.
Dorothy Stevens Paul will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
