Don Ray Tompkins, 74, of Bluffton, GA passed away at his home on Friday, May 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, Blakely, GA, with Rev. Randy Stokes officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Vincent Methodist Church Cemetery, Edison, GA. Pallbearers being asked to serve are, Randal Fulton, Timothy Ready, Dave Whatley, Hud Gay, Russell Fulton, and Jim Clark. Mr. Tompkins was born on October 11, 1949 in Phoenix City, AL to the late Thomas Lee and Francis Marie Peel Tompkins. He was preceded in death by one sister, Brenda Kay Simpson. After finishing school, He became a local welder, working many years for J&B Irrigation of Morgan, GA. He was a Proud Marine Corps Veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War. Mr. Tompkins is survived by his loving wife, of 50 Years, Sara Fulton Tompkins of Bluffton, GA. Son, Christopher Shawn Tompkins, of Bluffton, GA and Grandchildren, Bethanie Lynn Tompkins, and Kristopher Lee Tompkins. One sister also survives, Charlotte Lee Adkinson of Columbia, AL and Sister-in-Law, Gail Whatley of Coleman, GA, Niece and Nephew, Christy Thompson, and Jimbo Simpson also of Coleman, GA. Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
