Deena Blankenship Riley

Deena Blankenship Riley, a beloved resident of Blakely, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10th, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on Wednesday, October 30th, 1963, in Abbeville, Alabama, Deena was a cherished member of her community.

Deena dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a sitter, where her compassion and kindness touched the lives of many. She attended Colomokee Baptist Church, where she found solace and community.

Deena is survived by her loving sons, James Cheek (Terra) of Blakely, GA, and Josh Cheek (Brittany) of Enterprise, AL. She was a proud grandmother to James Cheek, Jr., Arabella Cheek, Swayze Gordon, Jadelynn Cheek, Tobias Cheek, Kaelee Cheek, Bailee Cheek, Korlee Cheek, and Tyrlee Cheek, who brought immense joy to her life.

She is also survived by her siblings, Ricky Blankenship (Kathy), Robin Blankenship, and Ryan Blankenship (Mary), along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will fondly remember her.

Deena was preceded in death by her parents, Marvette Blankenship and Geraldine Brockman, and her sister-in-law, Diane Blankenship.

A visitation will be held at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home on Friday, April 17th, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. No formal services are planned at this time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, where Deena's memory will be honored with the dignity and respect she so richly deserves.
