David Wallace Wilson Sr.

David Wallace Wilson Sr., a beloved father, grandfather (DPaw) and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21st, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on Saturday, January 6th, 1940, in Pansey, Alabama, David was a cherished resident of Blakely, Georgia, where he spent the majority of his life.

David proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a testament to his dedication and commitment to service. After his military service, he embarked on a successful career in the HVAC industry, retiring from Georgia Pacific. He was also the proud owner of Wilson Appliance Service, where he was known for his expertise and dedication to his craft for over 40 years.

He had a deep passion for serving the Blakely community. He took pride in knowing his AC work helped make others comfortable in their home. If you knew David, you know he was a jokester. His comedic nature was always a guaranteed laugh. He enjoyed fishing, scrolling,and talking on his phone with his many beloved friends and family.

David was preceded in death by his loving parents, Wallace Harrison Wilson and Corrine Ryan Wilson, four siblings, and the mother of his children, Sue Wilson. He is survived by his devoted children: Susan Renee Wilson Casey (Kevin) of Albany, GA; David Wallace Wilson, Jr. of Pike Road, AL; and Monica Shaye Wilson Downey (fiancé Angel Quiles) of Cape Coral, FL. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Olivia Grace Wilson, David Wallace Wilson, III (Elizabeth), Matthew Hamilton Downey, Michael Ethan Downey, and Madisson Renee Casey, as well as several nieces and nephews. David's family was further enriched by his honorary son and mentee , Mark Lyles.

A visitation will be held at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm. David will be laid to rest at Pine Lawn Gardens Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and legacy.

Pallbearers honoring David's memory include Mark Lyles, Matthew Downey, Ethan Downey, Kevin Casey, David Wallace Wilson, III, Madisson Renee Casey, and Olivia Grace Wilson.

David's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love for his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Arrangements are being handled by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home.
