Danny O'Neil Pybus, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away Tuesday, August 12th, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on December 14th, 1948, in Dothan, Alabama, Danny was a cherished resident of Blakely, Georgia, where he spent much of his life surrounded by family and friends.
Danny was a skilled brick mason, a craft he honed over many years as a self-employed artisan. His work can be seen in countless structures throughout the community, each a testament to his dedication and craftsmanship. Beyond his professional life, Danny was a devoted member of Berean Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and spiritual fulfillment.
He is survived by his loving wife, Crystal Pybus, and his children: Kevin Pybus (Terri), Angie McCormick (John), Shawn Pybus, and Daniel Pybus (Paige). Danny was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Phyllis Campbell, Jane Littlefield, Don Pybus, and Joey Pybus, as well as dear friends Angie Perkins and Vince Adams.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert Pybus and Dorothy Alva Pybus, the mother of his children, Maxine Cobb Pybus, his siblings Jackie Pybus, Roy Pybus, Mickey Pybus, and Yvonne Turvin, and a special friend, Randy White.
A memorial service to celebrate Danny's life will be held at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Eddie Littlefield officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on the same day.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Danny's legacy of love, hard work, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
