Claudia Hawkins

Claudia Jo Hawkins, 82, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. She is survived by her three children Alan Hawkins (Sheila), Tony Hawkins (Priscilla) of Blakley, GA; Linda Kadron (Michael) of Albany, GA; Sister-in-law Christine Clements of Lakeland, FL; Brother-in-law Rick Grube and nephew Maybrey Raulerson of Swainsboro, GA.

Claudia is preceded in death by her husband, James Charles Hawkins (60 years, 1 month, 4 days of marriage), her sister Paula Grube and mother Florence Bellamy Kershaw and father Joel Kershaw.

Her life revolved around her family. She was an amazing Navy military wife. She especially loved being the best Granmama and Great Granmama she could be to Jacob Hawkins (Tiana) & Luka; Kelsey Waigand (Steven) & SJ; Dallas Kuhn; Michaela Kadron; Andrew James Kadron (Bristol) & Baby Girl Blakely; Jared Hawkins & Heather Pope (Joseph).

She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and spoke of Him often. As a former Sunday School teacher, she thoroughly enjoyed teaching children about Jesus, and she was a wonderful prayer warrior. All you had to do was let her know your request, she would write it down and then pray for you.

She thoroughly enjoyed making crafts and was an incredible cook. Holidays were also made to be a very special time, and she always said all were welcome at her table. She enjoyed playing games and building puzzles.

The celebration of Claudia's life will be Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home Chapel in Blakely, GA. Visitation will be at 12:00 PM with the service following at 1:00 PM officiated by Rev. Chris Guffey. Afterwords, there will be a processional to the Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton, GA. Pallbearers will be Jacob Hawkins, Andrew Kadron, Jared Hawkins, Steven Waigand, Joseph Pope, and Patrick Shivers.

Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home will oversee the arrangements.
