Charles Edwin Cox, 76, passed away July 4, 2018 at Lifebrite Community Hospital in Blakely, Ga. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 3 PM in the Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. Dr. Michael Warren officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Hart, Cory Hart, Shawn Cox, Andrew McKenna, Blake Glass, Grayson Cox, Dylan Hatton, Lane Wilson, Josh Roland and Chris Cox. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-8 PM.
Mr. Cox was born August 6, 1941 in Early County to the late James Cyril Cox and Gussie Byrd Brookins Cox. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a son Charles Eugene Cox and by 2 brothers and their wives; Jimmy Randall & Diane Cox and Larry Alvin & Beverly Cox. He was a retired truck driver for Southern Ag. Co., a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a member of the Blakely Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by a daughter; Lynn Hart and Stephen of Newton, Ga. 6 sons; Dalton Cox and Malisa of Ft. Gaines, Ga. Robert Cox and Teresa of Ft. Gaines, Alan Cox and Krystal of Edison, Ga. Jason Hatton and Kelly of Dothan, Al, Derrick Cox and Windy of Dothan, Al. and Chuck Barrentine and Paula of Brundidge, Al. A brother Don Wayne Cox and Margo of Putney, Ga. 17 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren.
